Franz Lipp

1897 – 1996

Franz Lipp Collection of Visual Materials

Born in Leipzig, Germany, Franz Lipp was a landscape architect who during the Depression undertook a monumental photographic survey of Yellowstone National Park; the resulting photographs were exhibited at the Art Institute in 1951.

A selection of photographic prints from this survey are currently available for purchase.  All photographs are framed identically so they can be displayed as a set.
